Since no one answered my question, I’ll answer it myself.
For several days, I tried to write a program that would ingest a music library exported from iTunes and display statistics on the web. In the process, it was once again confirmed that PHP really is a buggy and inconvenient piece of crap, and that my beloved .NET is awesome, but there are no free hosting providers for it—and hardly any hosting providers at all.
As it turned out, I was wasting my time, because everything a person could possibly think of already exists.

At first glance, it’s an excellent project. It ingests XML from iTunes or from Winamp’s export plugin and displays all sorts of statistics. Among other things, you can show others which songs you listened to most and what ratings you gave them. It’s not as pretty as last.fm, but it’s more functional. There’s even some kind of widget for iTunes that makes it work online like last.fm, but that’s beyond me.
Unfortunately, uploading as a zip (or gzip) never worked for me, even though I tried really hard. I had to upload my 16MB media library as is.
All in all, it’s a useful thing. I need to explore it further.
